Edinburgh's First Burghers Exhibition
I worked as the graphic designer for Edinburgh’s First Burghers, a major public exhibition created to mark the 900th anniversaries of both St Giles’ Cathedral and the City of Edinburgh. The project brought together archaeological research, ancient DNA and isotopic analysis, forensic art and facial reconstruction to explore the lives of medieval people buried around St Giles’.
My role was to design the exhibition poster and the accompanying interpretation, presenting complex historical and scientific research in a clear and accessible way for a broad public audience. The exhibition ran at St Giles’ Cathedral from June to November 2025 as part of the Edinburgh 900 programme.
