Places That We Know
Places That We Know was a community heritage project created to share and explore the landscape, stories and local knowledge of the Muirshiel Hills, Lochwinnoch, the Garnock Valley, Three Towns, Kilwinning and Irvine. It was commissioned by Garnock Connections, a Landscape Partnership Scheme led by RSPB Scotland.
Running from 2019 to 2022, the project brought together a series of digital tools and interpretation pieces designed for long-term community use.
As lead designer during the first year of the project, I was responsible for the visual identity and oversaw the design of the heritage trail app, project website and online mapping tools, digital archive and Sense of Place Toolkit. I also designed a modular, multi-terrain exhibition stand and accompanying content for Garnock Connections to use across the promotion of its 25 projects. I worked on as an employee of icream architecture.
